QBC in Session

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

Since I was staying in D.U, I thought it would be nice to meet and catch up with my high school friends, the members of the QBC (Queen B**c* Club). I can’t even remember the last time we met, must’ve been so long ago as I didn’t even know that Homey has switched jobs.

We decided to meet somewhere close to our homes and since I’ve heard but not been to Paddington House of Pancakes, this would be a great opportunity to check it out. I arrived first and had the pleasure of perusing through the menu. Boy, did I have a hard time deciding!! As I already berbuka at home, I knew that I wanted a sweet pancake!Should I order the Dollar Pancakes? Galettes? Blinis? Blintzes? Pancake Burgers? Pannekoek? Pannekoek Pies? Pasta? Lasagna? American Stacks? One thing I know for sure, I will not even glance at the Salad Basket..hahaha! Everything looks so yummy!!N691483012_382009_4257

Mariesa, her daughter, Zara and Homey arrived at about the same time. Humeirah said the most sinful on the menu would be a blintzes with chocolate rolls, peanut butter and double ice cream. I was so tempted to but decided to go for the blintzes with apple fritters, strawberries, raisins, almond and double ice cream with a cup of hot mocha. N691483012_382010_4508 I remembered Mariesa ordered an Amsterdam and Homey went for Seattle but I dunno which type of pancake they were. But when they arrived, they looked like a thin crust pizza and smelled delicious. Mine was sinfully yummy and to die for and I couldn’t wait to go there again…hehehe. There goes my diet!!N691483012_382011_4849

Even though it’s been a while since we last met, everything was comfortable as we started talking about work, our friends, current issues (revolved mostly around Dr. Sheikh Muszafar..hehehe), menganyam ketupat here and there, our families. I can’t believe Homey has 5 nephews and 2 nieces. And that Mariesa’s dad is retiring! How all of us has grown!! But we still have that QBCness in us!!

We stayed until 9.30 p.m. We would’ve stayed longer..there’s so much more to yak about but li’l Zara was looking rather sleepy and I think she was getting bored and thinking, "MY GOD! THESE WOMEN CAN TALK AND TALK AND TALK FOREVER, MAN!!" N691483012_382012_5100 We hugged and kissed each other goodbye and said the usual line, "We should do this more often!" when we ourselves know that it will probably be another 4 or 5 months till we have this girly session again. Nevertheless, until we meet again..it is always a pleasure meeting up with my girlfriends Humeirah and Mariesa..the chicken soup for my soul!!

I Went To Kelantan and Sold My Soul to the Devil

Thursday, October 18th, 2007

Dear Sayang,

Just so you know, I sold my soul to the devil in disguise of a cute jewellery shop owner in Kelantan.

But it’s an investment, REALLY!! FYI, the price of gold increased another RM4 (making it RM84 per gram) a day after I bought my necklace!!

And I love you with all my heart :o)

Hugs & Kisses,

Yong

Hantuuuuu…

Sunday, October 14th, 2007

It was about 11 p.m. yesterday as I was putting Faiq to sleep. He was still wide awake and was playing in the room even though the lights were off. Then out of the blue, he covered himself with his blanket and said, "Hantuuuu". I wasnted to ask where but decidxed against it. Mana lar tahu he points to a spot in my room..knowing the scaredy cat in me…I would live in fear for the rest of my life.

So I supposed he saw one of his cousins doing it..or perhaps he saw it on tv..

Early Birthday Treat

Tuesday, October 9th, 2007

Gosh, it’s been a while since I last updated my blog. It’s been two months since my trip to China and I haven’t even blogged about it!! Nanti, nanti laa ek!!

Anyways, yesterday we went to Klang to settle some things at the Immigration Office. Since Rafiq is not going to be around on my birthday, he decided on an early birthday dinner. We headed to Bagan Seafood Restaurant and as usual he amazes me with how well he knew the area. I had a camera with me but was to busy finishing up what was on the table. But we had:

1. broccoli with black mushroom;

2. steamed groupa;

3. sweet and sour groupa;

4. chilli crab;

5. buttered prawn; and

6. fried rice.

It was YUMMY!! Rafiq said he read somewhere that the buttered prawn in this restaurant is the best buttered prawn in Malaysia. If ada yang lagi best, tak tahu la macamana kesedapannya coz the ones I had were marvellous!!! Everything was yummylicious!! I strongly urge you guys to try and check it out if you haven’t already!! It was a perfect birthday treat. Thanks, Sayang! I love you!!
