OMG I Could Recognise The Themes!!

Thursday, August 23rd, 2007

I managed to listen to Lite.fm as I was changing radio stations on my way to work this morning and was delighted when they announced that they were playing 70s and 80s TV Themes from 7-9 a.m.

I only managed to catch 4 theme songs and being a tv buff, I knew which program it originated from:

1. Airwolf

2. Fantasy Island (I almost didn’t recognise it until I hear the familiar cry, "The Plane!! The Plane!!")

3. Moonlighting

4. Family Ties

Hehehehe :o)

The Song That Keeps Playing in My Head

Tuesday, August 21st, 2007

I was driving to work this morning and the song that was occupying my mind was…

"Abih lo kito dijilat api,

Kalu lo kita tak siap diri!!"..

The first book which released I anticipated was David and Leigh Edding’s Polgara the Sorceress. Dida actually recommended the Belgariad and Mallorean series to me. There were 3 prequels to the series: Belgarath the Sorcerer, Polgara the Sorceress and The Rivan Codex. When I started reading the series after A-Levels, the last two books were not yet released and I remembered how excited I was when it finally released.

I can’t remember when I bought Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. It was probably in 2001..before the movie was released. I remembered how mental (borrowing Ron’s phrase) I felt after reading The Prizoner of Azkaban, knowing that I had to wait a year or so before The Goblet of Fire was released. The same mental feeling occured in anticipation of each new book released.

Then come 21st July 2007. It was the first time I pre-ordered a Harry Potter Book. I thought of queing up at the book store, waiting for the clock to tick till 7.01 p.m. but did not do so. Since my sister was the one who collected the book, I figured I’ll let her read it first as I wanted to savour the moment and pleasure of reading the last installment of the Harry Potter series on my trip to Labuan.

I managed to read the book bit by bit up till Chapter 12 whilst at home. Then on 6 August 2007 till 7 August 2007, my time was spent (except for the meeting which I attended) exclusively for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. As I did my reading at the airport and during my 2 1/2 hours flight to Labuan, I find it funny as I recalled how I surpressed the tears welling up my eyes from falling upon reading the part where Harry and Hermione visited his parents’ grave at Godric’s Hollow.

Finally at about 10.30 p.m. yesterday, as I read these words,

"The scar had not pained Harry for nineteen years. All was well."

I closed the book and thanked J.K Rowling for sharing her wonderful masterpiece which kept me mesmerised since 2001, which I’m sure will be remembered for years to come.

Thank you for this wonderful journey, Harry Potter. No doubt you will forever remain The Boy Who Lived!!

The World Welcomes Nur Jannah

Sunday, August 5th, 2007

Dsc00171 I was texting Chaz to ask her about her baby’s name recently and she replied, "Nur Jannah. Bila nak datang visit??!" Since I’ve known her since we were 9 years old and that’s long enough to know that she won’t stop pestering me until I do, Aunty Yong decided(actually I’ve already made the plan) to introduce Faiq Khan and myself to baby Nur Jannah.

Dsc00172 We reached there at around 11.30 a.m. Chaz was feeding her at that time and Faiq was trying really hard to distract me from having a conversation. He tried to climb up the baby cot, was jumping on the bed…yup, that’s my son!! After exchanging labour and maid stories, it was time for us to leave to pick up Rafiq at the LRT station.

Oh well, we’ll just have to come visit you again, dear! Can’t wait to see you in cute dresses and ribbons Jannah :o)Dsc00173

Hurrah for the Undomestic Goddess

Dsc00170 On Sunday Rafiq requested for chapatti for lunch and tandoori chicken for dinner. He was looking through my unopened recipe book and apparently found the recipe for it. I told him that I was too lazy to do it manually..meaning “Yeah I’ll do it using the instant tandoori paste” but NOOOOOO he insisted on making it from scratch so I said I’ll do it on Monday. I intentionally did not copy the recipe, I only reminded myself to get the tandoori paste, lemon and yoghurt when we went to shop for groceries. Apparently HE had remembered it so when I unpacked the groceries, I found a box of garam masala in the plastic bag. Sigh. Ok laa kot..daripada dia suruh giling rempah tuh satu-satu…

When I came back from work last Monday, so began my quest to make tandoori chicken. As I put the chicken in the oven I thought, “Well, it’s not so hard to make!” Rafiq came back when I heard the oven alarm. Was kinda nervous when he had his first bite.

Y: OK ke?

R: Ada rasa.

Y: Sedap ke?

R: Sedap. Daging ayam juicy and tak kering. Kalau dapat marinate lama mesti lagi sedap. Kuah yang you marinate tuh ada lagi ke?

Y: Ada.

R: You marinate malam ni. Esok terus masuk oven and bakar je.Dsc00168

YEAY! HE LOVED IT!

Esok nak try buat prawn masala plak lar…hihihi :o)
