You Make Me Sing, You’re Every Line, You’re Every Word, You’re Everything

Monday, July 30th, 2007

Found this on Jan’s blog and fell in love with it:-

My true love hath my heart and I have his,
By just exchange one for another geven,
I holde his deare, And mine he cannot misse,
There never was a better bargaine driven
Aktivist_247_loveyou_t2
My true love hath my heart and I have his,
My heart in me keepes him and me in one,
My heart in him, his thoughts and scenes guide,
He loves my heart, for one it was his owne,
I cherish his because in me it bides,
My true love hath my heart and I have his.

-Just Exchange, Sir Phillip Sydney

And I herewith proclaim this piece my anniversary song :o)

You’re a falling star, You’re the get away car.
You’re the line in the sand when I go too far.
You’re the swimming pool, on an August day.
And you’re the perfect thing to say.

And you play you’re coy, but it’s kinda cute.
Ah, When you smile at me you know exactly what you do.
Baby don’t pretend, that you don’t know it’s true.
Cause you can see it when I look at you.

And in this crazy life, and through these crazy times
It’s you, it’s you, You make me sing.
You’re every line, you’re every word, you’re everything.

You’re a carousel, you’re a wishing well,
And you light me up, when you ring my bell.
You’re a mystery, you’re from outer space,
You’re every minute of my everyday.

And I can’t believe, that I’m your man,
And I get to kiss you baby just because I can.
Whatever comes our way, ah we’ll see it through,
And you know that’s what our love can do.

And in this crazy life, and through these crazy times
It’s you, it’s you, You make me sing
You’re every line, you’re every word, you’re everything.

So, La, La, La, La, La, La, La
So, La, La, La, La, La, La, La

And in this crazy life, and through these crazy times
It’s you, it’s you, You make me sing.
You’re every line, you’re every word, you’re everything.
You’re every song, and I sing along.
‘Cause you’re my everything.
Yeah, yeah

So, La, La, La, La, La, La, La
So, La, La, La, La, La, La, La, La, La, La, La

TO US, HAPPY 3RD ANNIVERSARY!

Sheikh’s Wedding Weekend

Sunday, July 29th, 2007

I’ve been bogged down with work lately so the one extra thing I was looking forward to last weekend was Sheikh’s wedding. I drove to Shah Alam on a solo journey with Faiq as Rafiq was still in Miri and will only be back that night. Faiq slept as we were about to reach Shah Alam. It was raining cats and dogs when I arrived so I waited for a while. I think I arrived around the same time as Ceq We as he too called to inform that he was waiting for the rain to subside. Saw Sha’s parents and spoke to them. It was then I remembered that they were related as I saw Sha’s aunt at Sheikh’s house when his father passed away. Then one by one our friends started to arrive..Fara & family, Zaireen & her family, Leez and family, Dzul. While we ate, Ceq We related the story of how he fired his maid when he found out that she pukul his baby. Bengang betul with these people!! Since it was Sheikh’s wedding, taknak emo lebih2..HAPPY THOUGHTS, HAPPY THOUGHTS!! When Sheikh & Ollie arrived, we went to see them on the pelamin. Faiq was as usual happy when I let him run free so I ended up missing the ’socialising-with-friends’ part. Anyhow, I was happy just to meet up with them - Leeya, Raz & Kama (who was probably busy imagining their own wedding! Jangan marah Raz!! PEACE!!), Anen, Sue & Faridz, Arin & family, Anaz, Ayou (my son thinks I’m an angel OK so let’s keep it that way, Ayou!!) Had to wait for Zaireen to upload the photos as I still haven’t got myself a new camera. My friends still teased me about my old camera though. Ceq We said the camera itself is embarressed to function, so dia rosak laa!

On Sunday we stayed at home, made chapatti for Rafiq (he ended up improvising on it..hahaha!), started reading Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows. I’m just at Chapter Four..hehe. Was supposed to go watch Menopause The Musical but due to some maid issues, we ended up giving the tickets to Dik (the tix was still on the table when I dropped Faiq off at Dadima’s this morning..hmmmm).

Last but not least, congrats to Chaz on the delivery of her baby girl yesterday!! Can’t wait to visit her!

Baby Boom!!

Is There Anyone Out There Coz It’s Getting Harder and Harder To Breathe

Wednesday, July 18th, 2007

A day after my sinful leave, I was bogged down with work to the extent that I could hardly breathe. On that day, I was asked about a meeting which I nly knew then that I was the secretariat and the meeting was the next day, was forced to search hi and lo for accomodations for a meeting which wasn’t mine, was asked to go to another meeting just because I’m already in Labuan yadayadayada. All I know was that I was so stressed out on Friday. I was all prepared to come in on Saturday..only to hear an announcement that the office building’s electricity will be cut off. Shoot!! My superstitious side was blaming Friday the 13th for these series of unfortunate events. I left the office at 9.30 p.m. carrying a whole load of documents bound for Labuan.

On Saturday I made Rafiq drive me to my work site, when we were done we decided to take Faiq to the Lake Garden where he gets to do what he does best…lari, lari, lari!!! Visited my parents later that day. It was almost 10 when we reached home. Luckily Faiq fell asleep in the car so I could iron the clothes and pack for my trip to Labuan.

The next day, we had to search everywhere for a fax machine because some hotel enjoys making my life a living hell (yeah, yeah I know it’s procedure but I hate you anyway!!), which resulted in us arriving late at Lala’s house for his gotong royong pindah rumah. I didn’t do much as I was looking after Faiq. Left after lunch…bermalas-malasan kat rumah until it was time to go. Earlier Rafiq suggested that I take the ERL, which made me raise an eyebrow as I had 2 luggages and a laptop to carry. As usual her never tells me of his plan to actually accompany me on the train so that Faiq will have his first train ride. He ended up sending me to the airport when I realised that I could not make it in time and several, "Ye laaaaah.." guilt statements…hahaha.

Honestly I wasn’t really prepared and looking forward to this trip and I guess it obviously showed as Rafiq commented many times that I was nervous of the tip and I looked serabut. Alhamdulillah, the meeting didn’t go as bad as I thought it would although I’ll have a nightmare with the follow up actions when I’m back in the office but for now..I’m glad my most dreaded trip is over!!

Dementors in Little Whinging?!

I plead guilty for taking leave on Wednesday, July 11 to watch Harry Potter & the Order of the Phoenix. This would be the first time I actually saw the movie on the first day it was officially screened for public viewing. For the last four movies, I went to watch when the mania has died down. 308686 I bought the tickets for three for the 10.45 a.m. show on Monday and this was my first outing with my office mates. We decided to have a breakfast date at 9.30 a.m. We even had time to browse through a few shops before going in. Most of the reviews of the movie was bad so we went in the cinema with low expectations. I also decided not to read the book before I watch the movie so that I won’t end up complaining that some scenes were not included in the movie. The book itself is 800++ so obviously David Yates had to cramp everything. I actually enjoyed the movie though I wished it could be longer..like 3 hours or something. It wasn’t great neither was it bad!! I loved how they potrayed their emotions which shows how the cast have grown and those witty scenes, not to mention how HOT Sirius Black was. Seriously!! I remembered saying to Ros, "Wey, handsome siut!!" when he winked at Harry during the Christmas scene. Hehehehe…I have a new eye-mo :o)

Wow! Moment

I was beaming with pride when I saw a pink card on the dining table with these words written on it:

"Rafiq, Thank you so much for your time and contribution towards making the Asia Pacific Audit & Governance Summit 2007 a success."

:o)

Die Hard 4.0 was never in my "must-see" movie list. I’m sure I watched Die Hard but for the life of me, I don’t remember watching the 2 sequels. On the way to Dadima’s house for lunch, he asked if I’d like to go so I thought, no harm watching it. Glad I did, there was never a dull moment although the stunts were a bit imaginative..for the sake of a feel good action-packed movie..it was simply marvelous!!

And I will always remember the way I laughed uncontrollably when he commented on the smell…hahahaha.

Transformers: checked, Die Hard 4.0: checked. The only thing worth anticipating now would be this one:

Yesterday Once More

Monday, July 9th, 2007

The next best thing to look forward to after Sheikh’s ‘not-so bachelor’ dinner was the reunion with my Malacca Girls High School gang. We’ve been planning this for almost a month..since Aqmar joined our forum. Img_5101 In fact, she was probably the reason why this reunion was organised in the first place. The last time I saw Aqmar was when I left MGHS in 1993. That was when my family moved to D.U. Aqmar herself left MGHS that year and continued her studies in TKC. I can’t remember if I met her in any of the IIU Open Day (she knew my SMDU friend, Humeirah) but as far as I can remember, 1993 was the last I saw of her. I think we kept in touch for a while via email and I remembered receiving an invitation for her wedding. I reckoned we lost touch when she followed her husband to pursue his studies in Scotland.

Img_5102The housewife cum organiser, Arin had made sure everyone made themselves available at 4.30 p.m. on 070707. Meeting place was at Marche, The Curve. She was an excellent organiser as she kept reminding us again and again via email and sms. As at 060707, about 15 people promised to show up. I left my cousin’s wedding in Jalan Semarak at about 2.45 p.m., dropped Rafiq at his friend’s house near UM and rushed back home to get ready. I supposed when you are really looking forward to something, it’s one of those days when everything is delayed. Before I left the house, I had to run a few errands i.e. go to the bank, buy Faiq’s milk and refill my petrol. I was silently cursing as it was nearly 4.30 p.m. when I left the house. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise because Zavina then called me to inform me that there was limited parking so I’d better ask someone to drop me off instead of driving there myself. Amy drove me there and when I reached Marche, I was surprised to see that at 5.10 p.m., the only people that showed up was Arin, Zavina and Aqmar togehter with her two cute daughters. We chatted as if we never parted, exchange stories and gossiped as one by one began to show up: Reena, Fauzack, Aireen, Mimi and her son and her friend, Ayu. It’s amazing to see how we connect after all these years, how far we’ve grown. These were the people whom I grew up with, those who shared the best times of my life with. I’m glad I’m still keeping in touch with them. I got to know most of them when I first stepped into MGHS in 1990. But Reena and Zavina were my childhood friends, we’ve known each other since we were 9 years old (Gosh..that’s 21 years!!).

To Arin (who organised it), Zavina (who sponsored the souvenir token), Dsc00156 Aqmar, Reena (who’s expecting her second baby any time soon~nasib baik tak terberanak masa kita semua gelak macam setan!!), Fauzack, Aireen and Mimi, it was a pleasure meeting all of you. You guys still rock!! I hope we’ll still be friends when we are grandmothers. To those who couldn’t make it, we missed you and  perhaps we will see you again at another get together!!

So lalalala lalalaaaaa…

498escd A good friend of mine will be taking the plunge come Saturday, ending his bachelorhood so his thoughtful friends decided to meet up with him before he changes his status to "Married".

Fc2escd We decided to meet up at Naili’s D.U. Raz was the first to arrive and received a "Kena laa choose tempat yang kena bukak kasut" comment from both me and Zaireen. Zaireen was cursing away when she arrived, she had just waged war against a Kenari lady driver. What’s her car plate number again??! 417escd Then, Sheikh arrived and happily distributed his invitation card. Teasing, insulting and rolling one’s eyes are a must when I meet up with these people and as time passed, we started talking about more serious stuffs..relationships, marriage responsibilities. Eb61scd I remember the sentence, "I just don’t want to be a slave" being used…hehehe. All in all, I had a great night. To dear Sheikh, welcome to marriedhood and from last night, I could sense that you are ready for the big day and are happily counting the days to be Mr. Ollie :o) E346scd Congrats and am really happy for you!!

Of Delayed Flight, Transformers and all that Jazz!!

Wednesday, July 4th, 2007

Met up with Masni at JJ on Thursday before leaving for Labuan to attend a meeting. After the meeting the next day, I shopped around for a while and this was the first time that I actually went "kain shopping" after my numerous trips to Labuan. Saw some materials that I really like but I suppose I’ll save it for the next trip. My flight back was delayed for almost 2 hours and I came across a game in my handphone which I never had the time to bother checking but now has become an obsession. Arrived in Kajang at about 10.30 p.m. and spent the night there.

On Saturday, Dhirah came over to Kajang to spend a night at AD. Rafiq played tennis in the morning and we were either going swimming at K.Tine’s condo or watching Transformers after I serviced my car. Waited in line to buy Transformers tix for 1/2 hour whilst Faiq happily ran around at an open area. Sent Dhirah back to D.U and decided to leave Faiq there as well because I had to be in the office at 6.45 a.m. the next day for KWP’s monthly assembly at DBKL so kesian plak if I have to wake him up so early the next day.

Transformers_conceptual_designs_36 I’ve always been a fan of Transformers. It was the coolest cartoon back then. And even though there were Transformers wanna-be like Voltron and all, Transformers rules!! So, at 9.00 p.m. Rafiq and I were already seated at GSC JJ Cheras Selatan..eagerly waiting for the most anticipated movie. My heart skipped a beat when I saw Harry Potter’s trailer. Can’t wait for that too! Anyway, TRANSFORMERS WAS AWESOME!!! It was awesome from the time we heard, "Once upon a time, there was a Cube…". It should be awesome laa kan..considering the people behind it are Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg. And after listening to Rudy and JJ go on and on and on and on and on and on and on about how hot Megan Fox was, YES she was HOT!! But it’s true laa macam tak puas tengok the duel between Optimus Prime and Megatron. Transformers_conceptual_designs_33 But then again, judging by the way it ended, I’m sure there’ll be a sequel. It’s been a while since I last saw a great movie and the 1/2 hour queue was worth the wait. It was worth it even though I woke up sleepy the next day!!
